DOT THEATRE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR ROUNDING
THIRD
(MADISON) Blue Dot Theatre is happy to announce that auditions for
their summer production Rounding
Third, directed
by Ginger Swart, will
be held on March 11th from 7-9 pm. Auditions
will take place at Unity of Madison,
601 Tompkins Road
, on the
East Side

In
Richard Dresser's thoughtful comedy Rounding
Third, we
follow two oddly matched Little League coaches from their first
tentative meeting to the climactic championship game. Written
as a response to a Little League coach’s creative strategies for
winning (or, as the author’s son puts it, ‘cheating’) Rounding
Third presents us with two archetypal youth coaches at
opposite ends of the coaching spectrum: Don, the domineering winner,
and Michael, the father who just wants the kids to have fun.
Two well intentioned men with conflicting points-of-view, they are
the "Odd Couple" of youth baseball.

director, says of the show, “I fell in love with [it] upon the
first read. The characters are real, the comedy sharp and
acerbic and the reality of the situation is both touching and
alarming. [We are] pushing our children hard to excel and some
parents are pushing hard regardless of consequence.”
Blue Dot Theatre's production of Rounding
Third will
run July 19th through the 28th at the
Bartell Theatre on
East Mifflin Street
. Tickets go on sale on April 16th.
